Formatsia Vinnytsia Industrial Park

Vinnytsia, Ukraine
2025
The core of Formatsia Vinnytsia Industrial Park embodies a unified space formed around two streamlined buildings that appear as parts of a single whole. The masterplan reveals the buildings and the main entrance towards the primary approach to the park, while nestling the main part of the courtyard within a secluded area featuring uniform, decentralised landscaping.

Formatsiya Vinnytsia is the second industrial park in the Formatsia series designed by Aranchii Architects, following [Formatsiya Lviv – link]. The park’s core serves as the primary hub for Formatsia, where paths, functions, and people — both residents and guests — intersect. Two central buildings form a cosy semi-block with a plaza. The offset of these elongated structures allows the architectural narrative to unfold more clearly, highlighting the main entrance even as one approaches the park. The masterplan treats the two buildings as parts of a unified whole, while the landscape design of the courtyard and the core’s perimeter is evenly distributed, aimed at creating a comfortable public space that serves as an extension of a balanced landscape for living and working.

The buildings, which could be described as twins, are rather fraternal twins: while sharing elongated horizontal forms, they integrate into the space similarly yet distinctly. One employs facade geometry to create a cantilever over the commercial entrances, whereas the other offers a terrace for the first floor by means of a wider ground floor. The dynamic morphogenesis of the buildings ensures a seamless transition from horizontal to vertical surfaces and vice versa. The corners of the volumes on the side of the main entrance are rounded to ensure physical fluidity of movement and enhanced visual accessibility.

The masterplan unites these twin buildings, flowing between them and through the evenly distributed local landscape zones. These zones appear like loops along a person’s path, offering places to stop and rest. The circulation lines establish the visual language and tectonic of the paving. An entrance to the shelter near the car park is integrated into the landscape, which utilises the structure to its advantage by creating a small amphitheatre for events. The zone of more intensive use between the buildings is enhanced by trees integrated into the paving, creating an additional green corridor between the oases.
