📣 Business Hub PROSTIR Long-listed for the Mies van der Rohe Award 2026

January 11, 2025

We are delighted to announce that the PROSTIR Business Hub project by Aranchii Architects has been long-listed for the prestigious European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture — Mies van der Rohe Award 2026.

The PROSTIR Business Hub, located in Zymna Voda on the outskirts of Lviv, represents a forward-looking approach to industrial and commercial architecture. By seamlessly integrating office, warehouse, and commercial spaces within a unified modular ensemble, the project redefines the logistics hub typology — merging human-scale architectural language with industrial function through a series of dynamic pitched roofs.

Set along Lviv’s Circular Road in a region that has rapidly become Ukraine’s primary logistics corridor, the project’s design bridges domestic and industrial scales. Its bold red “Falun” façade creates a memorable architectural identity that contrasts yet complements the surrounding context. The architectural composition evolves from familiar gabled forms into a larger, rhythmic landscape of pitched volumes — a gesture that enhances visibility and recognisability from the adjacent high-speed road.

Sustainability and adaptability are central to PROSTIR’s design strategy. Its compact volumetry and efficient structural system reduce energy demand and operational costs. A modular structural grid allows tenants flexibility in configuring their spaces without compromising the ensemble’s architectural coherence. Inclusive design solutions, such as eliminating elevated loading docks, ensure barrier-free access for all users. Materials and façade articulation were carefully selected to balance performance with a distinct architectural expression.

The long-listing recognises PROSTIR’s progressive synthesis of function, sustainability, and identity — aligning with the values celebrated by the Mies van der Rohe Award as a benchmark for excellence in contemporary European architecture.
